Biography
Jakub Skalický (1973) is a television screenwriter and director. He studied humanities, II. Faculty of Medicine and FAMU in Prague. Since the mid-1990s, he has been working on his own audio-visual projects as an author and director. Puls, Kult-off, Friday Night Fever or Paskvil. They are always multi-part cycles covering mainly progressive culture and art. And they always have a distinctive art style, which is another area he loves.
He is also the author of several educational cycles. Over the years, he also gained experience in the production of radio programs - for ČRo 3 Vltava. In recent 10 years, he has been devoting more to socio-cultural documents of a larger scale. Concerto Bohemia, UMPRUM 150, PopStory. He is also show runner of the "flagship" of the ČT Art channel - ArtZóna, which has been running week after week for the fifth year in prime time of this station.
In the seven-part series Identity - the story of Czech graphic design, he used the experience and contacts he had gathered over the years of surfing between genres.
